Bank BIC Namibia received a full commercial banking license in Namibia and opened its doors on the 20th of June 2016.
2017
Bank BIC Namibia commenced its expansion plan by opening its first coastal branch in Walvis Bay.
2018
Bank BIC Namibia grew its loan book to 193 million, increased client accounts to 3.864, and opened a third branch in the country – Prosperita Branch in Windhoek.
2019
Bank BIC Namibia inaugurated its First Northern branch. Additionally, the bank introduced its inaugural domestic card, the BIC Express Debit Card, empowering clients to conduct transactions at point-of-sale (POS) devices and ATMs across Namibia.
2020
On June 20th, the Ongwediva Branch opened its doors to the public. Additionally, Bank BIC Namibia launched its BICNet Mobile App.
2021
Launched wireless and contactless POS machines, to the first BIC client.
Introduced the new VISA accredited international Debit cards
2024
Banco BIC Angola acquired the full shares of Bank BIC Namibia from its own group of individual shareholders in a move to strengthen the operational, and financial capacity of Bank BIC Namibia.
2025
Bank BIC Namibia received approval from the Ministry of Finance for the allocation of the deduction code, number 04129, which enables the bank to more easily provide housing loans to government employees.
